Easter Sunday

We had a busy Easter Sunday around here. Janae and Kim came over with their families. Then Curtis and Julie came, Eileen and Mark, grandpa and grandma, Keith and Nancy and Kathy. We had just a small get together of around thirty. Poor Courtney had just had her wisdom teeth pulled and she was pretty swollen up and packed an ice pack around on her face for most of the day. Eileen said Renton is now in Phoneix and likes the school. They are pregnant but are having major problems. They don't know if she can carry it to term or not. It was good to have Curtis and Julie and their family. We don't get together with them enough. Of course he was on call and had to go early. We all told him that there really was no hurry. The people he deals with will surely wait for him. They will just lay around until he gets there.

Jen, we loved seeing the pictures of the Easter Egg hunt. Taylor looks like she is freezing but everyone looks happy. Chase is really growing. We miss you guys so much. And Candace we can finally see a little bit of belly sticking out there. Last time we thought it was just your zipper sticking out. There wasn't much of a belly. You are really cute pregnant. You are probably going to be like Jen and Janae. From the back you can't tell you are pregnant because you guys are so skinny there is no where for the baby to go but straight out. Oh Candace, the school district is adopting the Saxon or Saxton math program. I think that is the one that you liked. Is that right?

There is really nothing new to happen around here. The guys are busy getting the new small circles on the ground that use to have apples in it. We are putting 2 small ones on our place here.
They had to take all the solid set that was in for the orchards out first and then get the ground ready for wheat. They are making contracts on $10.00 wheat. When grandpa heard that he rushed to town and bought 5-6 sacks of flour. I don't know if they will ever use them before they get bad but they will have them in their basement. If they could get down there to get it, that would make it all the better.

I am going to try and put a picture on this blog of Payton singing to grandpa. Tammy wrote everything down. So if I can follow the directions you may be lucky.

Well, evidently I need some more training. This is not Payton and I'm not sure what it is. HElp!!
Well I just got Jim out the door for a priesthood meeting so I am going to post this and try and work on getting the pictures to turn out right. Better luck next time, huh? Love everyone.mom

I just love getting on everyones blogs on Sunday afternoon and reading about everything happening in your lives. I find things out that we never hear about on the phone. Jim is gone to a meeting and Janae and Chelsea just left. Chelsea has her drivers permit now and she was out practicing. Janae said they would only let one or two of the kids come. Can't chance loosing all the kids at the same time with Chelsea just learning.

Jim is having a big regional spanish conference in Pasco this next weekend and they are putting the final touches on it tonight. We had to purchase 40 bags of tortilla chips for the party. I'm not sure if I will go. I can help in the kitchen, which Jim tells me I am not needed there, and then just sit and smile while the entire conference in done in Spanish. Those people are so friendly and have a great time at all their functions.

School will be a little crazy here the rest of the month. Ag day is tomorrow and then we have early releases the rest of the week. Next week we are out 2 days and then the next week is Spring vacation. And then they wonder why Jonnny can't read. We are never in school long enough for it to happen. But I guess after spring break we have a long time with no vacations until school is out in June.

We have been getting our share of rain lately. But I shouldn't complain because the rest of you have snow and cold weather big time. I am itching to get my garden in. Mom and I went to town Friday and got seeds. You know grandma she is planning a big garden again this year. But right now she is not feeling very good. Her knees swell up about twice as big and she get a fever whenever she does to much walking. They just got back from California and she hasn't rested up from it yet. She says that she should probably have knee surgery but with her sugar diabetes it would not be easy healing. So she is just suffering right now. Both of them are not getting around very good. Keep them in your prayers and they love getting short phone calls from grandkids.

Thursday Payton sang his song to Grandpa. He did such a good job. He knew all the words and just boomed it out. There were even grandparents crying. If I can get the picture thing to work I will put one on here.

Well keep blogging... We love it.

Spring is here (at least in Washington)

It has finally gotten warm and the crops are turning green. They have even planted potatoes around the Pasco area. I have been busy pruning roses, cleaning flower gardens and pruning rasberries. It feels so good to be outside again. I may even tackle dads shop today. (Okay that will take more than just today to finish) The farm is busy putting fertilizer on and getting the machinery and sprinklers ready. They bought a new ton-right and had to do some work on it and it will be so nice to have two of those going. We may have to teach Colton to run one and Blake to run the other. It takes some patience to stick on those and take the time to put the stack up straight. Hope those boys have the patience.

We were so excited to hear from Brian and Candace and they had exciting news. Even more exciting than "It's a boy" were the words that everthing looks good. Now all that needs to happen is the baby and Candace to grow. And they will be busy exchanging all those girls things for boys things. Sorry Brian, your 4-season closet may not be needed. Boys only have two seasons....sports and camo.

We are going to go see Caden play another basketball game today. We watched him play a couple of weeks ago and they are amazing to see little 6-7 year old boys that can play positiions and shoot like they do. We watched Payton wrestle last week. It was one of those little guy wrestling tournaments that last from 8-8. But Payton won his weight and age bracket. It is cute to see his tough face he gets on. We are almost as busy chasing grandchildren as we were our own.

Some of you have asked about making some payments or paying early on this summer family trip. I have a savings account that I am putting the money into so if you want to send early there is a place for it. I hope everyone is as excited as we are for this.

Well I had better get going and start that shop. Love you all. grandma

New News

Horray! Horray! Horray! We have finally got a new floor in our kitchen and bathroom. Scot had about three days off before he started a new job so we had him come and work. He is fast and good. We have a new floor in the kitchen which is a lot like to old one. I tried to get something different but I really liked the color and texture of the old one so I went just a little darker and bigger squares. I think the darker is going to show the dirt clods Jim brings in with him but I think I will like it. We got the carpets back down and put a taller baseboard down. We also painted some walls. Then when you paint the walls you have to paint the doors and then the door frames and then the ceilings. So I think my painting project has just begun.

I spent some time outside cleaning out my flower beds today and found some bulb leaves poking through the dirt. It has been warm enough during the day that it is making us want to get into the fields and do something. Jim has been busy moving hay to the cube mill. They ask for up to 6 -7 loads a day. Hay is suppose to be a really good price next year. That means milk will probably go up for you guys. Flour is going sky high. Grandma McGary bought some the other day for $20.00 for 50 pounds. It was 15 just about 10 days ago. So you know grandma.....she buys about a ton of it. Stores it in her basement....never to be seen again.

Did you hear that Janae's pigs had babies. That is all the big news around here. Janae is so proud. The two mother pigs had 25 babies. The kids are all excited and invite everyone to stop in and see the little pigs.

Taylor I loved your pictures of the school president day celebration. Where did you get your costume? Did your mom make your skirt? It looks like you are a great singer. Payton and grandpa are practicing a song for grandparents day the first week in March. He has to sing a song to grandpa and grandpa has to read him a book. Send more pictures of your school things because we like to see them.
I loved the pictures of Kenna going to McDonalds. Her hair is really growing and she is so cute. Did Sha curl her hair or it it that natural curl? It looks like she like McDonalds as much as the other grandkids.

Okay, I have something to tell everyone. I am going to join the team at school and walk a four mile walk in April for MS. I am suppose to get sponsors. If anyone would like to sponsor me for $1.00 that would be great. I figure it would be like buying a lottery ticket. If you buy a $1.00 ticket and then grandma walks the four miles and kills over dead, the inheritance comes a little early. So is it worth a $1.00 to see if grandma can make 4 miles? No really I don't want you to donate, it is just a joke.

Well Jim just walked through the door looking hungry so I had better go. Love your blogs and pictures.

Sunday Activities

Well Tammy, Kim and Janae and their families were here today. We made about 150 valentine sugar cookies. The girls took all of them home for their classroom parties. We had flour and dough all over everyone. The kids loved rolling out their cookies and cutting them. But about 1/2 hour of it and they were through, so the mothers ended up finishing them. It was pretty nice outside today so the kids spent much of their time outdoors. It was about 55 degrees. I hope that means that spring is coming. I told Jim that I was ready to start planting flowers and working in my garden. But I think I had better put that off for awhile.

We had so much warm weather here the last few days most of the snow is gone. It all left in about two days. Boy did we have the flooding. Marshalls, our neighbor to the north of us, had their entire yard covered with water. It was coming across the road and they closed that road. Then the road from us to Ochoas washed out and they closed that road. We still had one way we could get out of our house and that was the newly paved road to the south. But Easterdays have a big lake in front of their shop also. The road crew will have a lot of repairs to do before they can open up many of these roads. I guess they had a big washout down at the bass pond. That steep road that goes down there just washed right away. It is sad how we get our excitement around here isn't it?

Tammy guided me through putting a picture on here. I'm not sure I can ever do it again but there is a picture of the snow we got. Then we got another 3 inches after that picture. It looked so pretty out there for a few days.

Well I guess I had better go and clean up my house. After everyone leaves it needs some attention. Happy Valentines day everyone.

Winter Storm

We are just trying this out with a picture post for mom and dad. Here are their most prize possesions....other then Tammy that is :) This picture is a little out of date and there are few additions missing but this was one of the pictures mom and dad had on their computer. Now if they can just get the pictures off thier camera then we can be more up to date.
